Support for Myself
Regardless of how you identify in terms of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, PFLAG is here to support you and your family in your journey of discovery. Discovering that your sexual orientation may be different than those around you can be confusing and difficult to manage on your own. Many people have found attending a support group meeting helpful when they are seeking assistance in areas such as:
- Coming out to your family and friends
- Coming out at work
- Connecting with other members of the LGBTQ community
- Issues with bullying or harassment in schools related to one’s sexuality
- Reconciling one’s sexual orientation with their religious beliefs
We provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which to discuss LGBT-related issues with other people who are struggling with or have gone through similar experiences in the past. Our Toms River Support Meeting is geared towards general support services to the LGBTQ+ community, their families, and allies. While our meetings are open to anyone, we encourage transgender individuals and their families to attend our Transgender Support Meeting, which focuses solely on issues related to gender identity.
Visit our meetings and event calendar to find the date and location of our upcoming Parents, Families, and LGBTQ Support Group meetings.
