GLSEN Central New Jersey and The Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice are excited to announce their collaboration in presentation of the 16th Annual NJ GSA Forum to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019.The GSA Forum will be held at Grover Middle School, 10 Southfield Road, West Windsor, NJ. Grover Middle School in West Windsor-Plainsboro School District will be the first middle school to host the GSA Forum, an important moment as we move forward to include all our students. Keynoter for this event will be a middle school LGBTQ activist who has previously appeared as the kickoff speaker in the 2019 inaugural Princeton Pride Parade.
In the past 15 years, we have brought together hundreds of New Jersey’s LGBTQ youth from 12 to 19 years old, joined with their allies, group advisers, and supporters, for a day of celebration and education. Once again, the forum offers LGBTQ+ and allied youth the chance to work together with confidence, pride, and renewed strength for themselves and their community as we face the challenges of the social climate in 2019.
During this daylong conference, participants will enjoy workshops, educational activities, and entertainment as they will also have the opportunity to network with peers from across New Jersey. We expect the presentations at the GSA Forum to reach and inspire more than 500 youth and allies. We are confident that attendees will gain a newfound message of respect as well as gather impactful new tools for learning to foster welcoming school environments for others.
