Cameron Mazzeo, MSW, LCSW

Cameron has been an out and proud bisexual transman since 2007, completing most of his transition through college. He has worked as an LGBTQ advocate and educator for the last 8 years, providing social work trainings and speaking out regarding LGBTQ disparities. At the beginning of his social work career Cameron worked as a Safe Space Liaison in the Department of Child Protection and Permanency. He volunteered with Gender Rights Advocacy Association of New Jersey to speak before the NJ state senate regarding gender markers on birth certificates in 2012. Cameron returned to graduate school for his MSW, and interned with the LGBT Older Adult Project where he provided free training for local senior services in Monmouth County about LGBT older adult needs. He later attained his LCSW so he could provide specialized therapeutic services for LGBTQ adolescents and young adults. Today he continues to be a champion for LGBTQ causes. He works as a Behavioral Health Consultant at the VNA’s LGBTQ Health clinic and volunteers his time as the treasurer of Jersey Shore PFLAG Chapter.
